That little girl in the picture is my cousin. She is a unique little girl because not only does she have two dads but also two moms. 

My uncle (not in the picture, I’m assuming he’s the one taking it) and his partner John (the one in the picture) are partners and have been in a civil union for over 8 years now. The two moms have been together for 12 years and have known John for 15. They found Maggie in a basket on their doorstep with a note from her biological mother, claiming she could not take care of the baby. John decided to go along with the two moms and adopt her as their child. Then my uncle came along, and now they’re one big happy family.

Maggie is 10 years old now and she’s a dancer, an actress, a straight A student, and popular in school. She even has a little boyfriend named Connor who she holds hands with at recess.  Sometimes people are confused when she says that she lives with her moms and visits her dads often. Does this look like a family that is destroyed because of gay relationships and gay parents adopting? I don’t think so

It gives me hope that children these days have become more accepting of homosexuality and people like Maggie who live with different parents. She is going to be a strong, intelligent girl and I think her two moms and two dads have done a perfect job at raising her so far. My uncle makes an amazing father.
